Mounting Stress Levels Amongst Women

While researching on the subject of how mounting stress levels affect the urban working women, I learnt that stress is no 1 factor afflicting health problems like infertility, depression and insomania amognst women in Ahmedabad.

The numbers of working women are rising as the city is changing from a small town into a semi-metro. The macro level change of women coming out in big numbers to work has happened in the city but the micro level change within the urban male psyche to assist women in ‘their’ duties has yet not occurred, observe the experts.

The recent survey undertaken by a global firm Nielsen too quotes various women saying that “they feel empowered to reach their goals and get what they want, but at the same time, this level of empowerment results in added stress.”
